2008 Chevy Cobalt cooling fan

Yes, we just had the ignition replaced last week. That's the only recall notice I have gotten. Are there others?

Which I am still so nervous about because how do I know if the new ignition is any better? :(

I do still need help though with my original question.

Does the fan still run with ac off? If not it's probably operating normally. If it does, even at start up, could be coolant temp sensor is going bad. Also a possibility that something with the ignition change last week is causing the issues.

My response was to ask when the issue started? Was it before or after the ignition switch was replaced? If it was after, take it back to the dealer and tell them that after the new switch was put in, you started to have this issue with the reading and fan going constantly. It no doubt will be the sensor. I don't know if there was a short that burnt out the sensor when the switch was replaced or if it just is a circumstance happening. Also if you know where the sensor is, check to make sure the wire has a good connection.

Mine kept doing that. 2008 model, have gone through 4 thermostats in the last three years. The last one my husband showed me the gasket had been wrapped around the spring but can't figure out what's causing it. He cleaned all connections and checked all the fuses and relays.... So far I haven't had any issues in about three months

Replace the coolant thermostat. You will need to clear the Codes from the computer with a scan tool.
