dash light

Asked by lightbulb Apr 15, 2015 at 03:13 PM about the 2005 Audi A4

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the light on the center portion of my dash has burned out.  All other dash lights work, including speedometer and tach.  How do I replace this bulb, the dealer tells me I need to replace the whole dash at a cost of $1000+, is there a cheaper way?

WARNING!! Audi does not recommend attempting service of bulbs. Attempt replacement at your own risk. With that being said... Remove bottom cover at base of instrument cluster. Remove screws Remove left instrument panel Reach through and push instrument cluster forward Remove electrical connector WARNING!! Audi does not recommend attempting service of bulbs.
