vehicle makes a whiring noise when turning and excellerating. is this to do with power steering fluid?

it could, whirl, whine, have you checked the fluid? the pumps often go bad and leak. check all your fluids, and have someone car running, turn the wheel, while car is still, and you outside, hood open, can you tell if the noise is louder/worse when the wheels turn? as to when the wheels are still?

I have a Disco 1, it was the bearings on the AC pump pulley.
