Question type: Maintenance & Repair

it's a "84 944 N/A 100,000+ mi... this is my 3rd different one and

never had this happen before?
the problem; i was not in the car when it happened, so as best as my

wife can describe with my pressing for details...
the car was idleing with the shifter probably in 1st gear, clutch pedal

pressed down, also slight brake applied probably. she was that way

conversing to a teller when the car suddenly stalled completely, no

studder. the instrument panel will alight but i don't get no crank

action at all. not even a tic. recently  when i last drove the car a

light on the dash near the stereo next to the brake indicator light

came on. (the symbol is a ring with lines seemingly shining from around

it?) I tried jumping the clutch switch and checked terminals on the

battery which is new/ international model. the car is equipped with

aftermarket Viper alarm. the device on the passenger fender well,

forgive my resorting to description, that connects to the throttle

cable and is a servo motor. well it makes a continuous noise as if

actuating but with no actuation visible of external linkage?  what's

the deal?
where do I start? will a broke timing/ idler cause a shutdown?

If what your saying is that there's a servo connecting to your throttle cable and when you go to start the engine you have nothing it sounds like the servo died and the engine isn't getting any rotation to the throttle, so no juice. I would go to Pelicanparts.com and start asking around you should get some great answers from those guys, they rock!
