Sounds like you have a dead short in the battery harness somewhere, could even be at the terminal ends if there is any fraying wire protruding from it. Before dropping a new battery in there check the battery cables, look for any stripped insulation or burn marks, fraying, and try to check it with a meter for continuity or shorts. Also check your fusible links to see if they popped. The big cable going to the starter is a good place to start looking.
