How to open my hood when latch won't pop it

The lever in the car is not popping the hood. I have tried a screwdriver but it won't pop it

The latch might be rusty. Have someone lightly pound on the hood with their hands while you pull the hood release. If it opens, lube the latch with WD40 or some type of oil product/penetrant (no grease).

wd 40 an others dry out after a bit door latches and such should have lithium grease put on them ,pull cables can be lubed with any excess oil from bottles when you do an oil change,,you can use wd or a better liquid wrench or something like that with a straw an shoot some up at latch to help get it loose for you then use lithium to lube
