Fans won't turn off

Why does my radiator cooling fan stay on
even when I turn the ignition off. It is a 2007
VW Jetta

The fan will stay on to cool down the water until about 140 degree is reached this can take up to 15 minutes although usually 5 or so

Gasoline engines 10-15 min. run on is considered normal Diesels are 10-16 min run on If the vehicles go past this most likely running down the Batt. Tap on the fan switch to see if the fans stop.. most likely will be the switch
