Dear gregsewerman-- Imagine if you sat on the couch for four years watching TV and then decided to go out and run around the block. Think you'd be up to it? Well, the same thing happens to a car. Things dry out, crack, and "get out of shape." You need a good mechanic to check it out if you are thinking at all about making it run properly. The transmission is probably just the first of many things that will need repair. Good luck from Bovan.
