How do I determind what transmission my 89 jeep cimmanche pioneer has? pugeot or aisin 5 speed

Im trying to buy a new clutch and they ask me what
tranny is it. I have no idea nor does the jeep house

since no one at the dealer is useful , you have 2 choices. Buy them both and return the incorrect one or remove the gearbox and bring the parts to the supplier and have them match it up. good luck

You may have figured this out by now but on this picture: The new transmission is Aisin Warner AX-15 and the old one is the Puegot. You can tell the difference visually. The Peugot has a bolts around the entire transmission so when they are removed they can be split in half. The Aisin does not have this.
