1980 dodge d50 tail lights won't go out

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Drove thru some HEAVY rain today.  Parked for 8
hours and needed a jump when i tried to start it
back up.  Made it home no problem,  and it was
dark when i got home... turned off the head lights
and shut the truck down and when i got out, i
noticed the tail lights didn't go out. Played with the
light switch for a minute but no luck.  Pulled the
fuse and it was pretty warm, but the lights went out
(of course!) ... waited a few minutes,  reinstalled
the fuse and instantly the tail lights came back on.
Any ideas???
