What short time fix can I do until I can affford to purchace parts needed.

Hello I need help.  I own a 2005 VW JETTA 2.5, my battery continues to go dead. I took for diag check and was told that I needed new battery.  I noticed that after I turn my car off about 20min later the car sounds like its running but its not its actually a fan. (VERY LOUD)  I believe this is whats causing my battery to go dead.  (just started today)  Im not in a position to buy a new battery until or any other part for that matter until payday.  
Is there any short time fix like maybe removing a fuse and replacing it before having to turn the car back on.  
Can you please help???

You might not have to buy a battery at all, if the only thing that is wrong with the car is a parasitic battery drain caused by a component that isn't shutting off (or a short, etc...) You can try to isolate the circuit that is draining the battery by pulling fuses until the drain goes away, but you would need a multimeter to know when that happens. If, as you say, it sounds like a fan is running, then find just what is running and pull the fuse for that item, then return the fuse to it's proper place to drive. Keep in mind you most likely have two fuse locations, one inside and one under the hood, and the radiator fan fuse is probably located there. Your car manual will have fuse locations and which fuse does what.

or you can simply just .. unplug the fan... the electric fan never turns on except for when it needs it. Just plug it back in before you go somewhere. And try to figure out why its going off. my guess would be a bad relay or sensor.

Those fan motors can go bad in such a way that they don't shut off. Probably needs two fans. Scan with vagcom or similar to properly diagnose.
