VW Golf 2006 Battery Drain Problem

HI all,
I have been experiencing a battery problem with my Golf 5 (2006). I bought it a month ago, and everything was fine until 2 weeks afterwards. The battery was dead all of a sudden. Because the car is still under warranty, the dealer replaced the battery with a brand new one.
However, the same problem occurred again 2 days ago. The battery drained in the morning. More or less 2 weeks after it was installed. After the new battery was installed everything was fine.. but I felt that the battery was getting weaker after 7-10 days of use.
I wonder if this is due to a defect in the batteries, which was rather strange because the 2 batteries were actually new. I also wonder if this was caused by some electrical components drawing to much power. But in this case, it may be rather unlikely because otherwise the battery should have drained not long after they were installed.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem? Any advise would be very much appreciated.

Check all your grounds and clean your battery connections. Make sure that you do not leave anything connected into your cigarette lighter(s) when you exit your vehicle.

Hi. Just a tip. Check your turn indicator lever. If your parking habit involves turning into a driveway, sometimes pepole leave the indicator lever to the left or right. Most VW's has an hazard indicator if you leave the lever to the left or right. This means the parking light stay on (on one side according to indicator position), and the battery drains fully within a few days. Good Luck :)
Hi Ugo, i have the same problem with golf V 2.0 TDI 2005, after i leave it for few days the battery is drained :( Im in battery bussenes in my country so i have put 5-6 batteries and its all the same again and again, i have also cheked everything by electricial, new regulator, new bellts...everthing, clamp meter shows drain of 0.4 amps, what is ok by me....and i dont have a clue at all. In Trunk i have another battery with cables so i manage somehow but that is not the solution. If anyone has anykind of smart thing to say please do. ps: I see on forums that a lot of people have this kind of problem. Thank you all.
I'm having the same issue with my 2006 vw golf , I don't know what's draining it I'm on my third battery now

I have the the same problem on my Vw Jetta 07
anyone check the rectifier on the alternator im having the same issue
hey found it wasnt the rectifier didnt event check it. rumors of youtube are that its a radio related issue so i pulled out the fuse and placed Headphones and so far the bettery holds charge. after it would discharge overnight. CAN BUS Gateway needs upgrading.
Turn the car off and see if there’s any current still going through the fuses??
Check your tyre pressures and make sure there's enough water in your radiator.
