Creaking noises in my 1999 Saab 9-3 Hatchback?

Asked by TeePee Mar 16, 2012 at 01:08 PM about the 1999 Saab 9-3

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 1999 Saab 9-3 Hatchback and it makes a ton of noises on the interior when driving, lots of
creaks in the rear going over the slightest bumps.  It definitely sounds like it is near the rear wheels, but
also sounds like it is coming from body panels too.  Is this common with this make and model?  Has
anyone had any success in locating these friction points and quieting/insulating them?  Thanks for any
advice.

is the creaking in the cold? My 2000 9-3 does the same thing in the winter. I just deem it as normal, as the metal changes when its colds (not as flexible, yada yada yada) its the springs that are causeing this noise

Most likely its the springs in the seat that makes the noise :)

Some Saab are noisier than others. It also sounds a bit like the suspension to me.
