I have a Nissan Xterra 2006 and suddenly I was not able to reverse the car. It just didn't move. So, I took it the car mechanic and he thought that by cleaning the transmission oil and doing a deep cleaning will solve the issue but it didn't. I paid $120 just for him to do that. Then, he suggested to change the transmission. The used transmission will cost from $700 to $1500 plus labor. While waiting, there was another guy that had the same issue and he said that after you change it to reverse and waited for 30 seconds, eventually it will move. The mechanic mentioned that if you keep pushing in and out the break and the gas pedal at the same time, It will work within seconds as well.
