2004 Mazda rx8 cutting off

My son is driving his 2004 Mazda rx8 on the
interstate and it cut off all of a sudden.  What could
cause this and how do I take care of the problem

Hey man I also have an rx8 just wondering if all the lights on the dash flashed before it cut out, if so definitely check all your fuses ignition and starter related as well as just to see if other are not fried or anything
