Lincoln LS etc safe mode

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the throttle position
sensor and it ran good for bout a
hour or so, then it went rite back
into etc safe mode!! What would
be the reason for it to go back into
etc safe mode??

You may have some internal broken wires at the plugin for the throttle positioning sensor. May have to replace the plugin and have the computer reset.

Is the check engine light on? If it is on, did you have the car scanned for trouble codes?

Bob's right, pull the codes, see what they say and repot them back here and someone will help you with further diagnosis, don't just start putting on parts hoping to find the cause, sometimes it's a broken wire or a bad ground causing the trouble.
