rear seat lights

I just purchased a used 2004 Jaguar XJ8.  There are lights in the back seat next to the handles above each door that stay on all of the time.  I cannot figure out how to turn these lights out.  Can they be turned our or are they supposed to always be on?

it could be a door switch sticking on you or the light delay turn off device has gone short circuit on you it has whats called a "tryac" its an electrical switch in the light delay circuit that when it go's pop some times failes in the closed poshion leaving the light on for safty,,, i hope this has helped you
