1996 Ford Tioga montaro

I have a 1996 Ford Tioga montaro. It has
always passed smog with no problem. This
past year I was told it won’t pass because the
emc needs to be repaired. The mechanic said
he sent it out to be repaired but it came back
as unrepairable. He tried looking for a
replacement but has not been able to locate
one. Is it true my rv is no longer good since I
can’t get a passed smog test. Is there
anything I can do? Any help or suggestions
appreciated
