A common problem when replacing a transmission is finding out the harness connectors or electronics are not compatible between different years, even when all else is the same. You may want to look into a low-cost lease versus throwing money at an older vehicle that is turning into a money pit. If you already replaced the tranny you can adapt some harnesses and sensors but that will take a mechanic, at the least you need to know the year and part number of donor trans and what controls it used compared to your original trans. Someone on a dedicated Dodge truck forum might then be able to walk you through adapting it.

Correct, one of the pitfalls of used parts from an unknown sources. The cheaper option at this point is have a trans shop mechanic look over the problem. At least you can get some professional advise on how to proceed and how much to correct.
