42E was the most common tranny used, but they made a few others depending on what engine you have, the VIN number is the best way to tell which tranny you have..
Call your dodge dealer and have them run the VIN as the other person said. They can tell from the VIN which tranny was originally installed when built. More than likely the A 500 series tranny.
