Hopefully somebody will be able to answer these 2 questions. Bought a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 a few days ago and I'm having some issues with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1st question:The truck would die when you tried to stop so I bought a
throttle position sensor, crank shaft sensor and put them on. The truck
acted fine so I started driving home, got about 10 miles down the road and it
started doing it again. So I thought maybe the fuel pump wasn't strong
enough so i replaced that and it still does the same thing. It'll start and idle
for forever but if you try to drive it it'll die every time. I don't know what else it
could be. 2nd question: My dash cluster will say the mileage on the truck for
about 10 seconds then it'll start blinking no bus, the check engine, Abs, 4wd
always stays on but none of the gauges work. I used a code reader on it
and found out the guy I bought it from put a diesel computer in it so I bought
a computer, plugged it in and the diesel codes went away but my dash still
doesn't work and it still flashes no bus.. Does anybody have any ideas?

Could be your catalytic converter. Do you hear any rattling under your front passenger seat? Ifso your catalytic conv is bad and can cause truck to drive rough up to and including failure to start.

I haven't hear anything coming out from under the passenger seat but the truck has dual exhaust so it's hard to hear. It fires up extremely easy and it'll idle for hours but if it sits and idles for around 15 minutes and you try to get in it and drive it it'll die then it takes forever to get it to start.

I just went out and started it to check to see if i heard a noise and there's definitely no noises coming outa the catalytic converter.. Its been idling for around 20 or 25 minutes now and its doing fine. Theres no miss and it sounds great and as long as i leave it idle it will stay running and sounds fine but if I'd try to drive it right now it would die.
