2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup - won't start sounds like it's not getting gas

Asked by lynn24lynn Jan 15, 2013 at 09:25 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck was running fine, no problems at all.  Pulled into driveway and turned truck off.  Went to start again a few seconds later and it wouldn't start at all.  Cranks but will not start - sounds like it is being starved from gas.  The gas pedal also felt strange as it went to the floor.  When giggling the throttle cable under the hood, the gas pedal moved very loosely.  Put a computer on it an P0138 came up - 02 sensor, but talked to a friend and that shouldn't keep it from starting.  any ideas?   Lynn

Thank you... that seems to be the consensus. Why wouldn't that come up on the computer? Seems like it that is the problem why it wouldn't show up. Anyway I appreciate your feedback.
