My 2002 dodge 1500 is knocking
When my truck is running the engine is
always knocking, and after it's been
running for awhile if I turn it off and come
back to turn it on it doesn't start up rigbt
away. Any ideas?
The knocking sounds like it could be from lack of oil getting to the engine. The reason it won't start right up sometimes I have no clue unless that's a sign of some other problem starting to happen as well.
If The engine is knocking it should not be driven as you could totally ruin the block, also the computer system picks up that knock and retards the timing thinking it is a engine ping, so when you shut down that setting is still there so it makes it a little hard to start with retarded timing, plus there is also increased clearances internally that causes a loss of oil pressure to other components as well. Get it checked out or you could be walking.
