Removal of dash to replace radio and disk changer

Asked by sbearcat601 Jun 16, 2007 at 07:11 PM about the 2004 Dodge RAM 3500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The 6 disk changer accepts the disks and changes them all like it is supposed to however, it does not play and tells me that every disk has a "disk error". I want to get it fixed or replace the unit, but getting the dash off seems to be tougher than it should be.

The only way to I know how to remove a steroe is to remove the plastic panel covering the stereo with a flathead screwdriver (gently push behind panel and pull back) and then there should be screws that release the stereo. You can get a Chilton or Haynes manual that should tell you how to remove the stereo.
