Ram 1500 engine harness

Asked by GuruBTXQT Dec 18, 2018 at 10:40 AM about the 2006 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2006 ram 1500 single cab with a 4.7.
And I’m swapping that engine for a 5.7 out of
a 2004 ram 1500 quad cab. Do I need the
entire engine harness,ecm,and fuse box
outof the 04 for it to work even if it’s out of a
quad cab going into a single cab

You will need most of the engine harness, PCM, and transmission, and you will need to have it reflashed to your trucks specs. I'd join a good Ram forum, like Ramforum.com, Ramforumz.com, or Dodgeforum.com. They have multiple topics on 4.7 to 5.7 swaps. They will have more specific knowledge on PCM swaps and reflashing as well as making the drive line length work, either by swapping tail pieces or drive shafts etc.
