2001 T & C power opening side/rear doors working intermittently.

Asked by Matthew May 01, 2012 at 04:31 PM about the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a friend with a 2001 T & C with intermittent functioning of power opening side doors
and rear hatch. I cannot see any pattern when working or not working. The problem is exists
using all opening methods; key fob, inside buttons by doors and buttons in overheard by
garage opener buttons. Each door will unlatch but not power open OR it works just fine.
Usually it doesn't work. Any suggestions anyone?

I had this same problem with mine. Eventually, both doors stopped working. The motor will "click" and sound like it is trying to open, but it won't. I just stopped trying to use the buttons and open them manually. It's not worth the money to fix them, in my opinion.

You can try one of two things. There is a flash proccedure from chrysler to flash the body control module. and or the problem is usually the wiring in the track, after time the wires brcome brittle and break, they are easy to replace.
