Your car has the 3800 V6 a very good engine but with age some of the controls can fail. (1) Cam sensor...there is a magnet in the end of the cam, held in place with a plastic part...the magnet falls out and the cam sensor does not work....gas mileage and performance suffer (2) if the knock sensor fails, this can change the timing and gas mileage and performance suffer. (3) a plugged catilitic converter can affect mileage and performance.
