There’s a simple answer to your question. Yes, anything can work if you are willing to put the time, money and effort into it. The big question is... Is it worth the money to shoe horn a small block Chevy V8 into your Buick. Probably not. There’s a lot to take into consideration with projects such as engine and transmission swaps. Budget, custom fabrication and tuning along with a slew of many other misc. items that will be needed including fueling, custom wiring harness, engine and trans mounts, driveshaft, ECU etc. etc. you’d probably be better off buying a vehicle with your choice of drivetrain, with a clean overall platform to start with.

Possibly in the back. Don't let it leak oil onto your carpet.

The buick rendezvous is based on the same platform as the pontiac montana which has been LS4 v8 (300+ hp fwd) swapped just google it for info.
