Truck won't start without crossing solonoid

I have a 1991 f150 ,5.8l 2 WD,the truck runs when
you cross the soloniod but when you try to start it
from the ignition it will not make a sound.we have
replaced the soloniod ,and got a new ignition
switch but still have the same problem.also for
some reason the key is really hard to turn .

your electrical ignition switch is bad it should go on the bottom of your sterring colum.
