My truck runs fine in park, neutral, or reverse, but dies when put in drive. Why?

My 2000 F-150 5.4 auto will run fine in park or reverse, but dies in drive. Why?

You may have a tranny issue tc. Check the fluid level on your tranny. If it's low them fill to the proper level and see it it relieves the issue. If it does, try to find the leak and get it taken care of, If it doesn't you will probably need to seek professional help. Good luck!

I got a 2004 5.4 Ford 150 I can start my truck run good in park put it in drive then drive about two blocks it would start cutting out then dies try to start it back up it won't unless I put a rag with little gas on it to get it started and leave it there to get it back home could it be the same prob?
