Why won't my truck start after getting fuel?

my 2004 Ford f150 is great except when I stop for gas.
After I put gas in it, no matter how low the fuel is, it won't
start or stay running but after waiting a few minutes it does

Hold the peddle to the floor see if it starts , may be flooded do you smell fuel ? or there might be an EVAP valve/solenoid vent near the gas filler tube , If you can purge the fuel rail and it starts right up then the fuel pressure regulator may be bad .
