Question type: General

I was looking at 2 other websites that claimed to have the decode for the vin...
Both of them said that the # in the 8th position was related to the make.
Mine has a 1
According to the websites that means: basic, HF

SO...does this mean I have a "Basic" model, or that I have a "Basic, HF" model. I haven't had it long so I don't know what kind of mileage I get, but will repost when I have a better idea.

Those numbers are more like what a VW would get...or maybe a decent american car.... This is a 1986 Honda Civic (Manual 4-spd, 4 cyl, 1.3 L, Regular Gasoline) It's rated by new EPA standards as:31 city, 39 highway The old standards were 37 and 43 respectively After a tune up (all filters, rotor/cap/plugs, oil) I think it is hitting around 35/g average...I don't drive much, but I plan on taking a short road trip this wee-end and will try to remember tocome back and update this post....
