Installing aftermarket tach

Question type: Car Customization

I bought a GlowShift tachometer off of Amazon, and the instructions are incredibly vague. The green wire is apparently supposed to go to the "tachometer source wire" - the fun part is I doubt I have one of these 'cause I didn't have a tach in the first place (which is why I got one).

I've seen all kinds of online tutorials, and the only other possibilities I've seen mentioned for the green wire are the distributor and the ignition coil. Any advice?

A tach needs to be wired into a rpm signal. So figure out which wire on the distributor carries the rpm signal to the dash. A wiring diagram should tell you if you can find one.
