61 Ford Thunderbird startup issue

Asked by Apr 26, 2018 at 08:22 PM about the 1961 Ford Thunderbird

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I just bought this car and I drove it home from
my mechanic and now it won't start. I've replaced
the battery, starter, and starter solenoid. When I go
to start it I here one click and nothing happens, I've
tried bypassing the solenoid and jumping it still

You have a short somewhere. I would have checked that before replacing the starter. Have it towed back to your mechanic.

Well I'm trying to do it myself so I can not only cut costs but also learn my own car otherwise I shouldn't bother owning it. is there a way that I can easily find this short? Because I'm updating the electrical and mechanical of the car however restoring the body.

alrighty, I'd look on youtube for some videos on finding 'electrical shorts', it requires a multi meter and a lot of patience. Good Luck!

Alright thanks
