JUST PURCASED A 57 T-BIRD. HOW CAN YOU TELL IF IT IS A 292 OR 312?

Hi moronthree! Locate the data plate on your T-Bird. The first letter in teh serial number indicates the engine. On the 1957s a "C" indicates the 292, everything else is a 312.
