my truck won't turn over. replaced the starter, battery is good, distributor looks good.

did you check teeth on fly wheel,could be a bad sylonid switch.

Yes, the starter solenoid is separate from the starter on these. It is mounted on the passenger side fender well. You could also have bad battery cables. I replaced both negative and positive cable on my '84 Lincoln Town Car when I did the starter solenoid, I was surprised how close they were to failing after 20+ years.

I had the same problem with my 1973 ford f-250. I replaced everything I could think of and it turns out it was the neutral safety switch. It is under the steering column. Just slide it back and forth and it should start right up.

hello I hope you can help me f 250 put the battery cables to the back and I change the alternator the computer and cables and does not smoke has no current in 4 bovinas q I can aser to work

Still won’t turn over it makes a chainsaw revving noise every time I try to turn it over. I changed the alternator today and the battery is brand new as well. It was weird because I turned it on but then it stalled 5 minutes in. Did that twice and then didn’t want to turn on at all afterwards
