how much horsepower does a stock 1979 f150 460 have?

Interesting question Huck ... the 460 left the options list in 1980 and returned in 1983 at 245 hp, but I couldn't find the HP rating for the 1979 version. I did find this however. Check it out, I hope this helps ... Good luck! "For 1973-1979 Fords the VIN plate is located on the rear face of the driver's door. The information on the rating plate is the VIN number, color, model type, body type, maximum gross vehicle weight in pounds, engine size and certified horsepower."

I have gotton a 1979 ford econoline engine, that happens to be a 460. i do not quite understand what you mean, could you give me a little more information? thanks -TR
