when I press the pedal its not in tuned with engine.. very soft it does nothing with the engine ? How do I fix this ?

the linkage connection to just before the carburetor has fallen off (cable retainer to engine)~

cable tie, or piece of wire hanger would get you there~

holds it straight to the delivery of the position...'course there may be a cable replacement required here...is the cable frayed? or just lost it's support goin' to the carb?

yes theres a spring ...it may be loose what part do u tighten and how much.? when i accelerate from the carburetor thats the area. theres a black spring area that connects frm the pedal to the carburetor area.

Manually race the engine by hand while observing the spring. With a vehicle almost forty years old the spring may have lost it's tension. Should be a simple fix.

Happy to hear that Fabi..I have a 1978 with a 351....I don't remember which was the last year for the 360 and 390 ... it was either '76 or '77, my brother had a 1976 with a 390 but I don't know if that was the last year or they had them in the '77 like yours or Ford didn't put the 351's in until '78 like mine

According to wikipedia Ford stopped making the FE series, the 360 in 1976
