I think it was the first year that seating for 8 was available as well as a rear lift window.

seating for 9 with removable rear seat

The first year made was 1936. People back then were smaller so 9 could fit inside. 3 X 3 seating. New features? Could not find anything listing what was new for that year, perhaps what "lightGear" suggested, a rear lift window? Some online sites list a 1938 model but are showing the 1936 year.
