Please help. Can anybody tell how to get a new fuel sender for a toyota pickup 1978

I had a '76 Celica GT in the 80's & 90's. I had fuel issues for @ 1.5 yrs. I had changed the fuel pump, fuel pump relay twice, fuel filter several times, dropped the fuel tank & had it acid dipped then coated. Fuel pump issues persisted. Then a mechanic show me a wire connector behind the left kick panel on the driver's side. The mechanic pulled the connector & told me to put a jumper wire on one of the wires, it worked & I never had the accelerating issues again. I put @ 92K miles on the car after the fix. I can't remember the wire on the connector, because it was a long time ago. Good luck...
