Replacing the clutch, a do it yourself job?

I have a 1964 Biscayne 230cu and manual transmission, It needs a new clutch, I
know my way around cars but can I replace the clutch in my garage? I have all the
basic tools but is any special one required? Do I need to move the engine or
disengage the transmission? Is lifting the car enough?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

The engine can stay in the car. Put the front wheels up on a set of jackstands, block the rear wheels. Get the car about 18 inches off the ground. Take the drive shaft out of the car, block up the engine, then undoe the tranny cross member. UNdo the kinkage for the tranny, don't forget the speedo cable. Undo the trans and take it out.
