engine cranks fine but acts as if it is getting no fire or
fuel. I live on the gulf coast so it does't happen very often
but when it does I have to wait for warmer weather to have any
transportation. what could be causing this problem?

Dear jack peyton-- Let's start with the simple and obvious before we get too deep into why your 1997 Camry won't start on cold days. First, check your battery. You would be surprised how often I see a car with a battery that is perfectly good on warmer days fail to come up to the task when the temperature drops. If the battery is up to par, then you go through the list of usual culprits- like the fuel filter, the fuel injectors, the choke thermostat, the ignition rotor, etc. Let me know how you do. Good luck from Bovan.
