How do I correct Highway Stalling on my 1998 Cambry LE

My 1998 Toyota Cambry LE shuts off and loses all power when driven on the highway at speeds of ca. 50 mph.  I live in Washington DC and I have taken the vehicle to Bowie (MD) Toyota and Silver Spring (MD) Toyota  respectively and the issue remains unresolved.  A friend suggested my issue could lie in fuel filter replacement so my question to you is does this sound like a plausible solution to my problem?

It is a possibility but there's multiple possibilities of what the problem is. It's a good starting point on troubleshooting.

Any warning lights on or flashing when the engine is running?
