why does reverse light on my gear shift indicator blink while driving

I don't have much experience with the newer Camrys. Have you checked your reverse light bulbs? That may be a warning indicator with the newer models. You may have a burned out bulb. Or you may have a faulty reverse switch on your transmission. Put your car in reverse and see if your reverse lights are coming on. If they are not, I would say it's a faulty switch on your tranny. If everything works fine, you will have to take it to the dealer because it sounds like a malfunction behind your instrument cluster.

My 2001 Camry Reverse light came on when l stepped on brake, & I had a short in the trunk wiring.
