Does my CR-V have a belt or a chain?

I just bought my Honda 4
months ago. And there
were times I felt like it did
have the power it should
have. But now all of a
sudden, it's hard to start
and runs like crap when I
get it started. I put it in
gear and it immediately
dies. Is this a timing
problem & if so how much
of a problem?

Check engine light was on when I bought it for months ago. No I have not had the codes read until tomorrow.
