Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi can anyone help me please this is my first experience with audi motors, i bought a 1992 audi 100 5cyl ,, had engine problems (2 pistons stoped working) so i replaced the engine and now the car still in the garage it wont take off fast ,, it takes time to build rpm,,, can anyone help me? i am worried that the mechanics did something wrong with the fuel intakes ..another symptome ,, when i gaz the car it sort of back fires inside the air intakes..thank you for your help..
p.s. all tests where dont when the car was in park haven;t driven it yet with the new engine.

thanks for the reply papa, well today was a bad day at the mechanic again..someone else was there to check it and after reving the car at about 4-5000 rpm it seemed to get better having only a few back fires inside the intake and started to respond faster with each rev,, so the headmechanic told me it might be dirty gaz,, he suggested to fill up the tank with super higher octane gaz and to drive the car a little ,,, i was getting ready to get in the car and go for the fill up,,, when someone else showed up to see the car so i started it again reved the engine like before at 4-5000 rpm for about 30 t0 40 sec then releasing the throtle and reving it again when i heard a little pop inside under not sure where ,around the engine and red liquid leaked out from underneath the engine ,, i think it was transmission oil,, although i thought it should have been an off white-yellowish colored oil (special trani oil for audi)... when i saw that the oil leaked i sort of gave up on the car and walked out of the garage,, told the head mechanic to call me when its ready to drive out,, p.s. i suggested the timing might be off to him but he said that they used the same timing like in the original engine... not sure what to do now... the funny thing is that i checked the oil level in the transmission and it seemed to be ok ,, leaked about 4X3 feet under the engine,, ,,what do you think i should do?

i have worked on these cars a littleyou know basic tune up ,what i dont understand is the reving of the engine, know we do it to see if runing right but never that long of a time.i agree with color of trans fluid.i hate to say this without guy done the work i like face to face talking and not to acuse anyone, you asked my opinion ok i beleave the mech.over reved engine and blowed head gasket or found crack in block and put block seal in it this would explanepop and red fluid that came out.or over reving engine to me 30to40 secat 5000is overkill could have also blown a hose to sorry bud but without seeing the car myself is hard io digonise.maby this will help through questions around.thanks for asking my advice know not what you wanted but this is what i think really hope it works out for you, please let me know.
