87 Bronco 5.8 not starting/ staying started

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have an 87 Bronco 5.8 that I've been chasing a problem
with no good result. Began when I drove it about 5 miles
and it just died.  Jumped it off, barely made it back home.
Battery tested bad, got a new battery. Same thing, died
AGAIN. So I had alternator rebuilt and bought a brand new
battery and installed both at same time. Fired up and died
on freeway. Unhooked battery then we uninstalled the push
button ignition override (installed by previous owner) &
rebuilt entire ignition. Now.... it cranks over but will NOT
stay running. Heard it's a somewhat common problem.
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Really
looking forward to enjoying this Bronco rather than selling
out of frustration. Thanks for any help!

check the ground for the fuel pump , sounds like the engines getting primed for start but that's it , no telling what kind of cob wiring was installed by someone , could have been randy quaid for all you know
