Did you wire a hot wire straight to the battery to the radio?

It could be the door latch. Try opening one the other doors to see if the power to radio turns off. I just had this problem with my 2007 Uplander. It cost me $238 to have the repair done. It cost more for the part than the labor.

I just had this problem with my 2005 Chevrolet Uplander bought it second hand. After removing the door trim and changing the lock actuator motor it’s still did not work. The problem that I was trying to fix was that the dome light would not turn on when the drivers door was open on entry, and the radio would not turn off, or the dome light on when the drivers door was openeded on exit. The power locks on the drivers door would not function either. The locks not functioning made me think it was the door actuator motor of the drivers door because with all these issues the ‘door ajar’ sensor switch was still able to recognize the door was open, hence that sensor was functioning. I then believed that the ground from the RAP relay wasn’t sensing the door being opened because it wasn’t closing the the accessory ground on opening the door. After dismantling the door to replace the actuator in full. The problem still persisted. I finally checked the wiring between the door and the body, where there can be broken wires from the repetive motion of opening and closing the door over the years. Sure enough, under the rubber accordion sleeve were two broken wires (larger white and small tan) and about 4 stripped wires. I taped the stripped wires and soldered the broken wires. All electronics and sensors on the drivers door work properly now. Hope this helps, as it took me several attempts and lots of internet video and forums to finally get a simple fix down.

My radio stayed on too after I removed the key and opened the door. Fortunately, there's a real cheap and fix: You'll need a can of contact cleaner, the type WITH lubricant - available from electronic stores (Radio Shack, electronic repair shops etc.) and a sheet of 2,000 grit sanding paper 1) clean the rust and/or corrosion off both the latch in the door and the "hook" it latches into in the door's frame with the sanding paper 2) give the latch and the "hook" a squirt of contact cleaner 3) a couple of squirts of contact cleaner in the ignition's key slot 4) slide your key in & out the key slot a few times Yup, that'll do the trick. It'll also restore the "boing boing" sound when you push the door lock button. Cheers, Bart, https://banjobridge.com
