heating/air turning off with remote start

Asked by Guru96HM8L Oct 24, 2022 at 03:30 PM about the 2007 Ford Five Hundred

Question type: Car Customization

I had a remote start installed, however when I shut the driver's door, leaving
heat/defrost on, it automatically turns this off-defeating the purpose of heating
my car prior to driving the following day.  Is there a workaround?  Can I disable
it? same with automatically locking doors, drives me crazy

You'll need to go back to the shop who installed the system and have them fix it. Sounds like they didn't do it right. This is why aftermarket accessories should be avoided, especially on a newer vehicle with all the computerized electronics! Hope that helps! Jim
