2001 Toyota Camry stalls

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son's 2000 Camry runs great. About a week ago while driving the car it suddenly stalled and quit running it
would not restart until the engine got cold then ran for a little while before stalling again.  The check engine light did
come on. Our local mechanic could not find anything wrong. No codes came up. It has since stalled several more
times. A friend suggested removing the gas cap and then try to start the car. Much too my surprise that worked! I
replaced the gas cap to see if that solves the problem but the continues to stall. Any ideas on what to check next?

1990 Toyota Camry.4cyl Starts normally drives about 50 or so miles and dies. It will not immediately restart. Turn off the ignition key for a few minutes and it starts back up and may travel 1 mile or 10 miles before it dies again. It appears after the first failure the interval between stalls gets shorter and shorter untill the car is left alone over night. the next day i get 40-50 miles and it stalls. I loosened the fuel line at the filter under the hood and during the period it wont start there doesnt appear to be any fuel pressure. Is there a more acurate way to test if the fuel pump is failing or the sensors that control it are?

to the 1990 Toyota camry ownwer. Have you tried getting a new fule pump relay. Because I can see how when it heats up it fauls out and cuts off fuel pump, no fuel= no go and car stalls out. I can see that happening more than the fuel pump not working intermidently.
